Friday, July 1- Grand Tetons (don't translate to French, or you’ll blush!)

Today we said goodbye to Yellowstone and headed into the Grand Tetons. It wasn’t too long of a drive.  We checked into our campground at Flagg Ranch and headed into the park.  We stopped for some lovely views of the mountains and Jackson Lake before heading to Jenny Lake, where we heard there was a nice trail. We had a quick lunch in the parking lot, then walked to the marina.  Instead of taking the lazy man’s trip across via shuttle boat, we rented kayaks and paddled our way to the hiking trails.  It was no easy feat, since the current was against us, and it was not a tiny lake.  But, we finally made it, and we took a quick hike up to see the "hidden falls."  The river current down the mountain was really powerful.  We got some great pictures of the falls and yet another crazy marmot.  I swear they pose for the cameras. We hurried back down, as we had to return the kayaks before the rental place closed or pay a $50 fine per kayak.  We paddled back to the marina at race speed, even though our arms were pretty tired by then.  We made it in time, of course!  After walking back to the RV, we drove in a big loop back towards our campground, in hopes of seeing the scenes and lots of wildlife.  We did see a couple of prong horns from afar, and some elk from afar, and….more buffalo (we’re kind of sick of buffalo at this point!).  Also a deer almost ran out in front of the RV.  Of course, we haven’t seen a moose yet.  Back at the campsite, there were about one zillion mosquitoes.  It was literally like a horror movie where they were trying to get into the RV.  Jared braved the outdoors after a good coating of “OFF” and still got a bunch of bites, but he also got all of the hook-ups attached (this is the first time we’ve had hook-ups for the RV for four days).  We enjoyed a delicious spaghetti dinner before watching a couple of movies.  We were supposed to stay at this campground another night, but we don’t like it, so we cancelled our second night and will head to Jackson tomorrow.  The new RV resort we selected has all hook-ups and a pool, so we have a nice relaxing day planned.
