Monday, May 16th

We got to Morro Dunes around 2pm or so today and had a late lunch.  After finishing up lunch we took Nash on a walk on the beach. It is so funny because he started this new thing of running away from the waves. He likes to get in the water and was fine with the waves the other day when he was in the ocean, but yesterday and today he started doing this running away and jumping away from the wave thing. I tried to get a video of it, but apparently it depends on the size of the wave and Jared didn't want to go out much deeper with him. The water is freezing.

Morro Dunes and the beach we were on had a great view of the Morro Rock, which is the last in a chain of long-extinct volcanoes known as "The Morros."

After getting back from our walk with Nash we decided to take our bikes out for a ride in to town. We wanted to just scope out the area and figure our where we could rent some kayaks tomorrow. We were pretty much done with scoping everything out when Jared saw the Hofbrau.  Of course we made an immediate right on our bikes and headed to get a beer. We were disappointed when we got inside though. The only actual Hofbrau beer they had on tap was the Hefe Weizen so we each got one and sat outside to drink it up. It started to rain as we were finishing up our beers so we got a little bit wet on bike ride back to the campground. We got home in time before it really started pouring though.

Tuesday, May 17th

We were going to ride in to town again to go kayaking today, but it was pouring and the forecast didn't look good. Instead we decided to head out of town to our next location.
