Sunday, April 24th Happy Birthday Peter!!! Happy Easter!!!

Today we got up from the campground and headed in to Sedona, AZ. We went to a campground first to try to check in. There were spots available, but they said their boss doesn't let them put people in spots until noon. It was like 10:30am. So we paid for our site, but parked the RV in the overflow parking lot and headed in to town. There was a free shuttle that stopped around the corner from the campground so we walked to that to get the ride in to town. We had set up a Pink Jeep tour for later in the day and decided to stop in to pay for the tour in advance. Then we walked around Sedona checking out all the little shops. It is really a beautiful town surrounded by huge red rock canyons. Everything just looked so picturesque throughout the town. There have been tons of western movies filmed in and around Sedona. We had a quick lunch before heading to our tour.

Our tour started at 1pm and we did the Ancient Ruin/Diamondback Gulch Combo tour. This tour took approximately 4 hours. We headed out in to the canyons to do some off roading. The Diamondback Gulch tour is a four wheeling tour through the canyon. We were bouncing all over the place. It was really pretty all around us too. I took tons of pictures on the fly. We all definitely felt like our organs were jostled around after the tour. It was really cool to see all the rocks we were driving over. Once we were finished being tossed around the jeep we headed over for the Ancient Ruin part of the tour. This one was a much calmer ride and a hike up to the Ancient Ruins. Our tour guide was fantastic and had all sorts of information about the ruins. There were tons of old drawings on the rocks and it was really interesting to hear what they think each one means. We definitely enjoyed both tours and the whole area that you drive through to get to them. Our tour guide told us that people are allowed to just camp out in the canyon and we decided we would definitely do that if we come back again.

When we got back from the jeep tour we walked around Sedona a little bit more and then decided to head back to the campground for dinner. We had an excellent dinner of spaghetti, meatballs, and sausage. While we were cooking dinner a really nice guy came by that dad was chatting with earlier. Him and his family are flying out tomorrow and they had some unopened food that they wanted to see if we were interested in. We said of course we will take it we have don’t have jobs (we don’t turn down anything free HAHA).
