Wednesday, April 6th

After leaving the Natural Bridge Caverns we headed to New Braunfels for lunch and to walk around the town. We were confused at first because we thought it was supposed to be a small town with lots of little shops to walk through. We didn't see that and decided to go to eat lunch at a place suggested in one of our books. We went to the New Braunfels Smokehouse. I had the brisket sandwich which was delicious and Jared had the reuben which he said was just ok. It was a neat little place though with other smoked meats to purchase. We bought a little chicken that we could cook for dinner some other night and a sausage that they had samples of in the shop. It was delicious so we bought it. After lunch we headed to Gruene, which is a part of New Braunfels. We didn't realize at first that this was the place we were looking for in the beginning. It was a super cute little place though. We walked in and out of a number of shops, hit up two vineyards, and stuck around to hang out at the Gruene Hall for a little bit. The Gruene Hall is the oldest dance hall in Texas. It has had many great country music stars start there and play there. It was a really cool dance hall with plenty of people dancing to the band. We really liked this little town. It had a nice big free parking lot that we could park the RV in and we could walk around the whole town checking out all the little stores.
