Lisa and I have been trying to catch up for ages, somewhere in the world. The Heathrow crises gave us the perfect opportunity.

A couple of bus journeys later, I was off on the 8 hour bus ride to the wild, wild west - sunny Phoenix! When the bus doors open, its similar to opening the oven door. That dry heat!Temperature close to 40 degrees. MAMA MIA!!

The first night was spent catching up, and plenty of wine was drunk!! The girls had lots of catching up to do.

The following day was spent exploring the local town before we settled by the pool for the day to top up those fading tans.

Two of Lisa´s colleagues from Bristish Airways joined us for the day out to the Grand Canyon. After WHIZZING round the carpark, the ladies were more comfortable with the left hand drive automatic Ford!! Suzie and I mucked about at the back and left the mature two, Lisa and Jill, to chaffeur us to the Grand Canyon.

THe view of the canyon was awesome. The colours and the rock formations= superb!!

We even witnessed two mad witches ( they must have been!! ) pushing their black cats around in wheelie baskets round the Canyon. How many more nutters can there be??

We ended the great day in the local bar, sipping our Spritzers laughing with the cast from next summers new Michael Mann movie, That Kingdom. All the guys cannot wait to shave off their terrorist beards.

To Suzie, Peter and Jill - it was great meeting you all. Had a FAB time. Lisa bid for a Brazil or SA so we can catch up again!!
