Monday was a day of relaxation before heading over to Northern Ireland.

Tuesday morning I flew to Belfast, which only takes an hour, where my friend Donnach picked me up, once he worked out which airport I was at :-) We travelled to his home town of Ballintoy which is about an hours drive north to the coast, where his lovely family welcomed me into their home for a few days. They were forecasting rain for the whole time I was going to be in beautiful Ireland but I had fabulous weather. Couple of light showers nothing to stop us from getting out and about.
As you will see from the photos this place is just gorgeous it is breathtakingly beautiful and I felt very calm and peaceful here. Will definitely be venturing back this way. Wednesday I went for a huge walk in the morning and in the afternoon we met up with a couple of Donnachs friends and visited The Giants Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge.
The rope bridge links the mainland with the tiny island of Carrickarede.  It spans 20 metres and is 30 metres above the rocks. Although no one has fallen off the bridge, there have been many instances where visitors, unable to face the walk back across the bridge, have had to be taken off the island by boat. I wasn't one of them!!! The rope bridge beats a boat trip any day.
The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. The causeway coastal route is rated one of the top 5 road trips worldwide. Not surprising. Thursday we went for a great drive to Ballintoy then on to Cushendun.
Friday I had to arise at 4.20am to head to the airport as Donnach had to catch a 7am flight. Not my preferred wake up time but had such a great few days it was a price I was happy to pay. Six American choppers arrived whilst I was waiting at the airport, all to do with G8 and caused several flights to be delayed, luckily mine was not one of them. Returned to Bonnie Scotland mid afternoon ready to pack and head to Aberdeen on Saturday.

It is not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself and make happiness your priority it is an absolute necessity!

Haha yes put Ireland on your list its a shame it's a country struggling. As for the "fat goblins" they are nasty wee things are they not? Must be an international problem. Miss you guys xx
