Where I stayed
We arrived at our hotel which is surrounded by barbed wire. It was crowded to the point we almost couldn't get in and we soon learned that the President of Liberia was here for an event. After bringing our bags up to the rooms and attempting to get our cell phones working we experienced our first power outage. The room went pitch black and Kotee said that had never happened before. We later learned that it was common and not a big deal but with the President here it was a little alarming. Rosie told us the that the U.N. gaurds stormed the restaurant where the President was eating but all was fine. We later learned it was a generator issue from the Assistant Mananger, Rabir. Everything in this city runs on generators so each night they switch generators and the power goes down momentarily.
After the Liberian team left we went to eat in the restaurant and met a lady with USAID. She joined us for dinner and while we ate the President walked by our table. The Lebanese own the hotel and the food is great. Dawn commented about the noise the tree frogs made and the service is very laid back here.

Awesome
That would be Dawn...the President of Liberia walks by the table and Dawn comments on the noisey tree frogs. I am so glad that you made it safely to Monrovia. I cannot wait to see all the pictures and hear all of the stories. Thank you for having this blog so that we can keep up with you. Jamie
I found this blog very informative and useful for everyone. Thank you for such a wonderful post. Can you write something about limo hire as well.
