After spending 10 days in and around Perth with having no luck of finding work i took a chance and moved down to a working hostel a couple hours south of the city nearer to the wine region. i heard of the place thanks to some girls i met on the east coast who had worked there before...within a week i had a job working in a 5* Hotel resort's restaurant and also landed a job pruning vines on a vineyard....jammy i know!

Over the next 3 months i worked somewhere between 60 - 75 hours per week. Generally i'd start at 7am on the vineyard working through until 4pm arriving back to the hostel at 4.30. I'd then shower and have dinner within an hour and be at the hotel by 5.45pm and work til about 12...long day then i'd do it all over again!

Dont get me wrong they were both good jobs...working on the vineyard was easy as most of the time it was sunny and we were wearing shorts and t-shirt, throughout the whol of winter we had 2 days where we had to stop work because of the rain. It did get chilly in the mornings down to about 4 degrees but as soon as that sun come up we'd prune away either chatting or listening to music.

The hotel was in beautiful grounds with a balcony overlooking the ocean from which you could regularly see hump back whales cruising along and occasionally showing off and jumping around. My bosses were super and we had a good lil team going by the time i left as i was pretty much running the joint! lol :-p

Still with all that work i did manage to get out and about and had some crazy times including wine tours, super golf (golf with plastic clubs and giant balls), visiting the ice cream factory, archery, crazy golf, mass cook offs in the hostel and numerous fancy dress parties!!
