Howdy everyone! I spent 4 nights in Auckland, its a pretty random city, it holds over a 3rd of New Zealands entire population which is about 4million and has the highest percentage of Polenesian ooccupants than any other city in the world. Although it is New Zealands biggest city its soo quiet, the streets are busy but are nothing compared to the likes of London. It was a real culture change from that of Fiji and kinda unsettled me a bit just because i went from white sandy beaches and hot weather to being in the middle of the city, to be honest it was a bit of a come down from Fiji.

After a couple of days i adjusted and got to see some awesome sights.
I headed out on a free Kiwi experience tour, which i thought would just be around the city centre turns out we headed round the centre but also ventured to the habour bridge and got to walk across it. Half way across was the bunjy pod and one of the guys showed us how todo a handstand bunji. One of the girls had a bunjy booked for the weekend but they said if she did it right there and then she would get a second jump free. Well after seeing her doing that and working ut it would cost me 40 for two jumps i was straight in there and another girl followed. It was insane, not the highest bungy in the world but at 40m over the river it was a good starting points. On the first jump I was shitting myself, standing right on the edge and waiting for a stupid boat to go past making the tension build even more. As soon as every1 counted down I was flying off that ledge was pretty awesome, ended up with my arms in the water which was a bit of a suprise but all good fun! Backwards was scary hanging backwards over the edge to my surprise there was no countdown he just asked me what i had for breakfast i said nothing and he let go. On the video you can herar him say as i'm falling "you should always have somethign for breakfast Jamie" ....a nice little touch!!

After the bridge it was to the top of the sky tower which is like 238m high at it tip, no offence to Portsmouth but it puts the Spinekar tower to shame! see some great views even though it wasn't the clearest of days but I had to go just to say i'd been up it!
Next day I got up early and headed off to mount Eden in Devenport which is 1 of the many volcanoes that Auckland is built on. its all covered over in grass now but you can still see the crater and its shape. I've taken a lot of pics of the skyline of Auckland coz it looks different everywhere you go.

I can see why people don't like Auckland coz it is just a city and they get stuck in a rutt of just going out and boozing all the time but i've learnt the further you go out of the city the more there is to do and the more you can see.

Next stop Hamilton and who knows whats in store there!

Much love

Jamie
