Hello All,

Well it's 6 days before I leave for my trip and I figure it's about time I get going on this 'blog' I keep talking about. I will do my best to keep this updated during my trip and upload photos whenever possible. However, I may need help with motivation. So please post a comment or send me an email to help keep me inspired to write.

So this past weekend we had a BBQ at the farm which was kind of a going away party, but the thing I didn't want to tell everyone is that I might not be going. That is, I might not be leaving on Sunday, as planned, if I didn't get my passport back from the Indian Consulate. You see, way back in early July I found out that I needed a Visa to travel in India, but figured I had lots of time to get it before I left. I sent off the application, along with my Passport later that month and assumed that everything was fine. When I got home after house sitting for Chris and Isabelle for a few weeks and opened the package from the Indian Consulate and discovered it had been rejected! Unbelievably I had forgot to enclose the Visa fee. That was last week. As you could imagine I totally freaked out! The Indian leg of my trip is not only the longest leg, at 8 weeks, but also the part I was most looking forward to. So I had to decide whether to risk re-applying and it not arriving back to me in time (meaning I would not only have no visa but also no passport) Or go without the visa and likely be rejected when trying to enter India? I decided to try again and if I didn't get my passport back I would just have to delay the start of my trip.

This morning I got a call  from Chris informing me he had a package from the India Consulate. It was my passport and this time a Visa was attached. So the trip is on! and I can't wait to get going.

My next entry will likely be from London, my first stop of many, on this trip of a lifetime.

We wish you all the best on your adventures!
Hey Keith,

Isabelle and I wish you all the best on your adventure. We know how much you are looking forward to it. You have been talking about this trip for as long as I can remember...probably a good 12-15 years and the time has almost arrived for you to leave! I look forward to reading about your latest news from where ever you are in the world. I am jealous (b/c I'm stuck here), but really excited for you at the same time.

Have a great trip, be safe and enjoy this once in a lifetime trip!!
