We sampled loads of the street food which was all absolutely delicious. There were no tourists about too which made it a really great experience. Ended at his restaurant where we had even more food, bringing the total number of dishes for the day to 40. You would think that would be hard to finish but a few hours later I was hungry again
Next day was another early start to go on a bicycle tour. The company was really popular but for some reason I was the only person on the tour. I thought that might be less fun but it was great talking to my guide and being able to ask loads of questions. We cycled 9km around the Vietnamese countryside, stopping at various places to observe the locals in their jobs.
I got to get in a 'basket boat', a bowl shaped boat made out of bamboo, and paddle down a river which was cool. Also got to help make sleeping mats with these women who have been doing it all their lives. It felt so good to ride a bike again after so long, especially through the crazy roads of Vietnam.
Very please with my tailored shirts, they fit perfectly. Also got a pair of jeans made but had to send it all back to the UK because I don't have room in my bag. Could have sent it by sea but that would've taken 4 months so had to pay 1 million dong to send it by air
Really tired after a couple of early starts so today I didn't get out of bed until the afternoon. Went for a haircut which was a pretty weird experience. It started normally but then this guy got out a straight razor to cut the back of my hair. It now feels really weird but I think it looks alright. He also splashed some aftershave on my neck and gave me a shoulder massage. All for £2! Never had a haircut quite like that.
Leaving Hoi An tomorrow on another bus. Thankfully it's only 4 hours to Hue so I don't have to get a sleeper. Really enjoyed my time in Hoi An. I think I've decided that Vietnam is my favourite country so far.
