So it was my last day on the beach today. I've spent the last few days doing absolutely no sunbathing or swimming. I can't really take my top off as my chest looks so ridiculous. Almost healed now though! Pretty much been chilling out in the restaurants by the beach or in the hostel I'm staying in.

A highlight of the local food has been pancakes with honey for breakfast. I was so relieved I didn't have to have eggs. They were delicious.

Also been keeping to my budget quite successfully. Yesterday I managed to get breakfast, lunch and dinner for £2.50 each! Although in my efforts to cut costs I ordered a 'fresh fish' with chips and veg for only 300 rupees (£1.50). I thought to myself 'this is a steal, what a great piece of ordering'. Turns out it is literally a fish plucked out of the ocean and put on a plate. I don't even think it was cooked. Luckily they didn't have the size I ordered so I was able to change my order. Not sure I would have been able to stomach raw fish.

Anyway, not much has happened here really. I saw two yellow Labradors playing in the sea which reminded me of Eddie and Forrest. They are just about the only normal looking dogs in Sri Lanka.

Heading up the coast closer to the airport tomorrow. More train journeys. Yay! Have to start taking my malaria tablets soon in preparation for India. That should be interesting....
