I sit here the night before leaving for Cochin relieved to have at least temporarily solved my camera problems- neither of the two business center computers nor my friend's laptop will recognize my camera, although this hadn’t been an issue before with the same computers. Anyway, I’m using my spare (very old) camera to do the uploading. Yes, I read all through my manual including the trouble-shooting section on how to solve this problem. Any techie people reading this? I need some help! For now I’ll work around the problem.
Like I said, today we had free time, which was nice but flew by, naturally. I went shopping in a very crowded market, then went to an upscale mall and got a 4GB memory card (woohoo!) and had McDonald’s for lunch- the ultimate intercultural experience! At first as I read the menu I was looking everywhere for a burger- then I had my big "duh!" moment- no beef, of course. The meaty entries were all made of chicken. Justin, you would love Indian McDonald’s- it’s very spicy! The chocolate shake was different but good, and the fries tasted the same.
Later I ran on the treadmill (getting used to it) while I watched a game of cricket on the gym TV. That sport looks pretty fierce- the outfielders wear sweater vests!
Off to the beach tomorrow... looking forward to some fresh fish!
