We spent about ten days in Punta Cana. I've been meaning to write this blog for a while but just finally got to it. To be honest with you, it was probably the worst vacation that I have ever had. Had I known it was going to be that bad, I would have gone to the other side of the island, Haiti.
For starters, we stayed at the RIU International Resort. Here's the only good thing about it. The entire package was an all-inclusive; therefore, we were not dishing out money left and right throughout the entire trip. At that RIU in Punta Cana at least, the traveler is at the dire mercy of that company, if you want to do something you do it with the RIU, and that includes shopping. The resort is far away from anything and surrounded by tall gates. It's close to a 2 mile walk to get to the front gatte to leave the resort. The beach was ok, although very crowded. The majority of the tourists in Punta Cana we noticed were mostly Canadians, and they go for two weeks at a time. As I said, there isn't really much to say. Neither one of us enjoyed the trip and would not return.
