Whilst checking into the 'luxurious' Hotel Novosibirsk, we met three hungover British yahs who had just had a run in with the local constabulary. They were not entirely sure what they had done but had managed to get away with it. As our luck would have it, we had arrived on Novosibirsk Day - a celebration of this glorious town.... Scores of young Siberians in questionable get-up were out on the streets, listening to dire Europop, getting hammered and latterly fighting. Although they were trying to enjoy themselves, it appeared to us that they didn't know how. Pretty sad really. Other highlights of this delightful place included the discovery of two Irish bars and a relatively quick internet connection. The substantial nature of this latest travel installment is testimony to the fact that this town is dull as Dundee. Don't expect these lengthy and well written updates to continue.
It's crazy to think that we that we have only be on the road properly for two weeks. In that time we've experienced so much, in contrast to what we would have done behind our desks. Still happily unemployed!!
Must dash.... another 35 hour train journey to Irkutsk this evening.
