Flag of Mexico  , Central Mexico and Gulf Coast,
Thursday, March 26, 2009

As you may be able to tell, i'm getting quite lazy with this so i'm going to try to get away with minimal writing. From Guadalajara I shot down further south to Oaxaca which is a big, old colonial city. Really nice centre to it and great markets for eating in. There was a whole avenue inside one market with huge slabs of steak and sausages on both sides being cooked and everyone hassling you to come and eat in their stall through the clouds of smoke. Chocolate is a big hit down here as well, being eaten regularly as a sauce to go with chicken or beef. I went out to one of Mexico's main archaeological sites out of town called Monte Alban which was very impressive. It's perched on top of a hill overlooking the city so there were great views to the valleys either side. Only spent a couple of days as I didn't find much to do and the beach was calling.
