American Airlines were idiots and forced me to wait on a plane in Miami for 4 hours without moving and then cancelled the plane until the next morning. Luckily we got sent to a nice(ish) hotel nearby for the night and got some free food...great. Even better, when we finally did take off we were delayed another hour and then had a longer flight as we had to avoid a hurricane in the Caribbean. Serves me right for making a spreadsheet of a plan.

1. Avoid American Airlines at all costs - in my experience, the worst airline in the world
2. Don't miss Astrid & Gaston in Lima, one of the best restaurants in the world, and worth a splash (surprisingly reasonable)
