Well it has finally dawned on me that we will no longer be in Geneva and I'm not sure whether I am sad or happy about this result.. Although I have enjoyed greatly the past 1.5 years spent here, I am ready to move on and begin this wonderful adventure with Johan!! I suppose the biggest thing I have to be grateful of Geneva for, is the fact that it brought she and I together! Without her I suspect that I wouldn't have the courage to take on this trip, nor the patience or tenacity so for that I am deeply grateful. When she originally proposed the idea I had doubts, however I have completely accepted it and couldn't be more excited!! As we tip ever closer to the departure date, my enthusiasm grows exponentially!

Although we won't be flying to Baltimore until 1st November, we still have quite a few things to look forward to coming up! I suppose it could even be considered that we are doing a month of traveling beforehand with the upcoming itinerary. 3 capital cities and 5 other locations are sure to keep us busy over the month of October.

On the 1st October we shall fly to Edinburgh and then spend the following 8 days in Scotland, where we will cover Inverness, Nairn, Isle of Skye and Glasgow! I am mad eager to see Skye and visit the various places we have lined up along the way, such as Eilean Donan Castle and maybe a whiskey distillery too.. I've begun to get to grips with my DSLR camera now too so we'll be putting plenty of photo's into the blog. Aside from that we have a fantastic wedding to go to (Rachel, Jo's cousin!) in Glasgow which should be a great laugh. Watch this space as I may even be convinced by the misses to wear a kilt to the wedding....

Following that, we're heading down to Cardiff for a couple of nights where we'll meet up with a few of Johan's friends, Oralie, Simon, Michelle and Dave! I've yet to meet Oralie and Simon but I can only expect good things as Jo is crazy about them. Michelle and Dave should be on good form, i've only ever known them to be. The fact that it'll be the 6 of us should make it good craic. Really looking forward to Cardiff as I've never been and have heard plenty of good reports from the place!

On the 13th October we'll both be living in Dublin until we fly off so we're gonna use this time to travel around Ireland to re-visit an old favorite, (G-G-Galway) and explore a place that is new to us both, Belfast. It sickens me to think that I've not been back to Galway since I left there in September 2008 but I hope that it still holds the same charm. As for Belfast, we had the option of using our time here in Switzerland for one last trip outside of Geneva but we've opted for the trip up to Belfast instead.

Yes it's safe to say i'll miss some aspects of Switzerland but if I'm totally honest the Swiss mentality will not be one of them! I'm pretty sure that Johan doesn't share my views however I'm pretty outspoken naturally so I'll voice my concern!!!

Au revoir les Swiss.... A plus tard!!
