It was another scorcher today. The sun was out and shining bright and hot! We decided to go to the Warner Brothers Movie World. It was only about fifteen minutes drive from Surfers Paradise so we managed to get there quite early. Our first theme park since our trip began six months ago. It felt a little like we were in Orlando. Arriving at the park we were very disappointed that the “Superman Escape” rollercoaster was closed. It’s the biggest rollercoaster here so it was kind of annoying that it was closed. We did manage to go see and do everything that we wanted to. Some of the highlights for us though were the: Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster, Wild West Falls and the Batman rides. We also managed to go on the Lethal Weapon ride twice, the second time taking the front seats which was absolutely crazy, bumpy but brilliant! They did have some show time rides including the usual Hollywood Stunt Driver one and Journey to the Centre of the Earth 4D Adventure. The park closed at 5pm which we thought was kind of early, but we guess it is a Sunday in the off-peak season so maybe they close up earlier than they would if it was peak season.
After our day of rollercoasters and fun we popped into the local supermarket and bottleshop where the lady gave us directions to the cheapest local campground. We arrived here just before dark, parked up for the night, cooked some dinner and caught up on some news on the giant TV in the camp kitchen!
