Those bird's are nasty looking. I remember talking about those birds at Book group. It's great you saw one Bernie. Love the sight. Rose, Madeline will be sending you a message soon. I have just received your travel pod details.

when is a cassowary not a cassowary,
love your shot of the cassowary, but unfortunately it isn't a cassowary at all.
The bird in your pic is actually a scrub turkey.
A cassowary is about 5 feet tall (a bit like an emu), with very large three toed feet, has a blue neck and has a large horn like nail on it's head.
sorry your pic is only of a turkey, maybe you'll be lucky next time.
