The last few days we have spent shopping (there is great shopping in rio)), enjoying the nightlife with fellow travelers and dealing with our bank to get our $4500 back which was stolen from our skimmed travel card! (luckily it only took 4 days!!) One of the nights we spent out with the locals watching the UFC, in which a Brazilian was taking part. Was great to watch at a local bar and even better that the Brazilian won!!

Today we headed out to enjoy the good weather and see some more sites. We walked to the rodrigo de freitas lake, otherwise known as lagoa, a natural lake with salt water, where we rented a push bike each.

We rode around the lake and then headed for the bike lanes along ipanema beach. We rode along til the end and reached the lookout where fisherman and surfers enjoy the point.

From here we biked along the famous Copacabana beach (one of the famous beaches in the world) where we stopped for a bite to eat and enjoyed watching the beach goers of all ages, women in their thong bikinis, men in their small speedo shorts, kids playing and adults playing football and soccer and running along the running/bike tracks.

We rode all the way along Copacabana beach to leme and then returned via the same route to ipanema, then along to leblon beach, and back around the lake. All in all we ended up riding around 32km, a great way to take in the sites of rio and people watching too!

Our last day in rio, what an awesome place, one you could get lost traveling in for a very long time!! Definitely one of our favorite places in our travels!!
