Pucon has turned out to be a massive breath of fresh air. This place is stunning!!! There is a huge Volvcano standing in the distance and the lake Lago Villarrica at the foot of the town is a swarm activity. There are people on mass here and the beaches are simply swamped with people (some pretty stunning chicas I might add). Even though it is a bit touristy and very overpriced it has really boosted my opinion of Chile. We are really looking foward to climbing the Volcano and also looking foward to hitting the clubs on the weekend, after all we are still rationing out our drinking days after Mendoza.

Went to a club called Deep on Saturday after consuming a few Corona´s at the hostel. The club was quite a distance away and in the end it turned out to be pretty crappy. The place looked good from the outside but inside it was really just a massive metal garage, with concrete floors and next to nothing in the way of decor or anything behind the bar. However we still managed to make idiots of ourselves and finished the night as the only three people on the dance floor showing off our dance routine. Once the music stopped we got a few cheers from the bar staff before we ran out with our heads in our hands.

On Monday Murray, Daniel (another Aussie we meet on the way here) and myself booked a trip to climb Volcan Villarrica (2900m), the massive conical volcano that sits above Pucon.
At first the climb was pretty unpleasant, scrambling up a section of rock and gravel in some intense sun and windy conditions to the start of the snowline. From here on in it actually became a lot easier walking in the snow. We had to ZigZag our way up most of the way for another three and a half hours, stopping every 30-40 minutes for a quick break.

We finally reached the summit at about 1pm for a majestic view of Pucon and the surrounding areas. The view held no less than 8 different lakes and upto 10 separate volcanos in the distance, it was pretty stunning to say the least. We then hiked along the billowing creator to a spot where you could look down to see the molten lavar bubbling and every now and again shooting upwards. It was a pretty amazing site as well, the colour was really intense. Unfortunately with all the smoke it was pretty hard to get a decent picture.
Eventually, after having are eyes burnt out with sulphur it was time to go back down. However it would only take us 30 minutes, as we would be sliding down on our arses. One by one we slid down these sections of snow that had been carved out like slides. We managed to pick up a lot of speed and also managed to get quite a bit of airtime and a few massive wipeouts as well. The volcano has been another diffenet highlight of South America for me.
