Illa Grande, Brazil

After about 3 hours on a bus and a two hour boat ride in beautiful sunny weather we finally came into the harbour at Ilaha Grande. Ilha Grande is an island about 150kms south of Rio. The entance was pretty spectauclar with huge sharp mountains covered in atlantic rain forest and an awesome beach. I checked into a really nice hostel finally with 2 Norweigens and a Dutch guy. We pretty much partied every night and slept in late most days. Unfortunately the weather was fairly overcast everyday whilst we were there so we decided not to go to Lopes Mendes, which is meant to be the nicest beach in Brasil. A decision that I still regret now.
Ilha Grande was really laid and a very welcome break from the hustle and crime of Rio.
we also found Osama Bin Laden who was working in a caiprinha stool.
