Getting to Parati turned out to be a pretty big mission. Ilha Grande had no cash machine so I was running extremley low on cash when we left. After the boat trip back to the mainland I asked a few people which was the bus to Parati. After two hours on the bus I was told it was the end of the stop and that I had gone in completley the wrong direction. Stuck in the middle of nowhere I waited for another bus to take me back to Parati except there were none. After an hour a bus took me 15 minutes up the raod to a petrol station where I was assured a bus would come by, which it duely did. Unfortunately I didnt even have half the cash for the bus fare. I had to beg and plead with the driver to let me on and 7 hours later than I was meant to arrive I finally got there. Very Lucky.

The next day I wandered through the old streets of Parati which is a mix of old colonial homes and cobbled alleyways / Very nice. The beach here is really nice and the place is also backed by really steep jungled mountains. There are hundreds of islands around the peninsula and it is generally pretty laid back.
