After a few visits to different beaches I headed over to the other side of the cormandle and into the charming little town of the same name. After here I decided to find a campsite but came across none that I liked until I ended up in Thames staying at this very cool  and nicely decorated hostel, camping in the Yard.

Thames doesn't get many rave reviews but I really liked the town that had a lot of character due to the old styled buildings from the gold rush area. That night I bought a few beers and joined a good crew of people consisting of a few nationalities (but mostly German) and the gorgeous resident dog at the Sunkist Hostel.

Next day I intended to get straight to Auckland but ended up in Paroa, home of L&P (famous NZ fizzy drink). In Paroa there was a massive V8 car show in town starting with a big parade through town and into the show grounds. I ventured in amid all the bogans and petrol heads and there were some stunning cars ranging from classics through to Hot Rods. I really like a couple of the Mustangs that were on show.

After my intake of testosterone I headed onto the motor way and into huge traffic trying to get into Auckland. Having never driven myself through this much traffic it was pretty full-on at times. Eventually I managed to get into the center and then find my Sisters Flat in Parnell.
