From Invercargill it was about a 170km drive to get to Manapouri saying goodbye to the ocean as we sped inland and upwards.
Manapouri itself held very little but was in such a gorgeous setting. We stayed at quite a quirky campsite that housed its own collection of morris minor cars amid loads of other nic nacks.

Gareth and Myself even ventured into the freezing waters of the lake for a quick swim in the blistering heat. I thought the water was quite nice after you got used to it although Gar was far from convinced. Infact he cried like a little girl, where as Lian just refused to get in at all.
We had a few games of Frisbee later that evening, which has become a bit of a habit before showering up, getting a feed and then heading to the pub along the road for a couple of pints, a couple of gins and a few games of pool. When we decided to leave and head back to the campsite the heavens opened up and we were sent into a mad dash back to
our tents which we all dived into and didn't venture out to the morning.
