Mark and Myself had made plans not to let another Sunday go to waste and so decided to head down to hippified Byron Bay. Unfortunately true to form I had a bit of a bender the night before and refused to go. Another hour in bed and still nursing a headache I decided to make the effort.

in the end six of us made the hour long trek down in two different cars. Now everyone tells me the only things to do in Byron Bay is to go to the lighthouse and have a pint at the local pub. So true to form we quickly found ourselves parked up with beer in the sprawling beer garden of the pub. After a quick drink we all decided it would be wise to make an effort to hoke up to the lighthouse. We ended up walking along the awesome beach watching the surfers on the point and then taking on climb to the point. About midway we paused for a breather overlooking the cliffs with a couple of dolphins swimming in the surf below. continuing onto and finally reaching the big, white lighthouse afforded pretty awesome views and we managed to pose for group shot that turned out pretty sweet.
Unfortunately time was against us as I had to be back on the Goldy to work at five p.m, so after a quick trip to the garage to get some advice on the car that had been playing up on the way up we took to the road again passing back into Queensland territory.
