The drive from Tom Price was very uninspiring indeed with the 600kms or so throwing us into a zombie like state. However fast forward to late that afternoon and we had set up camp.
The sun was fierce and we made a beeline for the huge deep swimming pool at the campsite, spending the afternoon submerged. In a rather lazy act we also had dinner at the poolside restaurant.
The next day it was time to head to the Cape Range National Park and check out the Ningaloo Reef, which runs all the way down past Coral Bay our next stop. First we had to stop in town and pick up some snorkelling equipment. Town was awash with hundreds of retirees who'd come ashore from a cruise boat to walk as slow as humanely and stand in every doorway while looking for new teaspoons for their collections. Resisting the temptation to pinball past he human roadblocks we finally settled on some gear. Eventually we had paid the $11 National Park Fee and turning down an appearance at the nudist beach we were soon wading into our first snorkelling spot "T-Bone". The reef-life here seemed to centre around a circular hunk of coral that rose from the water with heaps of aquatic life swimming in its depths.
