Today we "climbed" the Eiffel Tower.  I'm putting that in quotes, because what we really did was wait in a long queue for an elevator to take us up!  Dad, on the other hand, ditched us, and climbed the 700+ stairs to get up there!  I much preferred my nice elevator, really, just being up so high is exhilarating enough!

The views of Paris from on high are clearly amazing.  I felt like a very mediocre photographer, because my snap shots will never show the breadth and the depth of the views, nor the beauty of looking out at the amazing architecture Paris is known for.  I spotted Sacre Coer, the Arc du Triomphe, and of course the Seine.  The view was absolutely captivating, it was definitely hard to make ourselves come back down to earth.

We went right up to the summit and outside and I was very surprised how unafraid of the height I was!  I have always maintained that a fear of heights is a completely logical fear, but didn't once feel that terrible twinge in my stomach of anxiety.  Rather I wanted to see each part from every angle, we pointed out tiny (but perfectly manicured) public gardens, tiny cemeteries and buildings old and new.  It was not that warm, however, the Paris wind can be bitterly cold.

This was definitely a "must-see" for Paris, and I loved it.
