The local bus service from Hue Hin to Surat Thani, was supposed to be a simple 6 hour trip. It turned into a 12 hour trip!. After waiting 2 hours for the bus, the ticket man then decided to tell us that infact the bus was  not going to come. We were told to get on another one, this bus then dropped us off at a random bus station in the middle of nowhere where we had to wait 4 hours for the next coach. We were not happy bunnies.
 
Surat Thani was only a stop off for us, we stayed over night, to catch the boat the next morning to the islands.
