So! The afternoon tour we booked included a trip to the Uluwatu Cliff Temple and Dreamland Beach. Here there was a lot of monkeys! Naughty cheeky lil monkeys!! So cheeky in fact they proceeded to steal our jandels right of our feet!! We had been warned to take of all sunglasses, hats and anything else the monkeys may steal but we never thought they would take our shoes! Bee was targeted first and we thought that it was because she was wearing pretty purple ones, but then Kerry (Ken's mum) was targeted where the monkey succeeded and then Ken's jandle was also stolen! Lucky for them there were guys around that bribe the monkeys with treats in exchange for the stolen item. Ken got his back for a small price unfortunately Kerry's lil friend really was not prepared to give up his new find. He even swatted away any treats he was being given and then took a massive bite our of Kerry's jandel! We decided to leave him to it. The way he was hugging this jandel he really wanted to keep it!
So we decided not to proceed any further as we realised the higher we got to the top the more aggressive the monkeys were becoming! So many people wandering around with only one shoe, no sunglasses and a story to tell!
We made our way to the outdoor stage where we waited for a traditional Balinese dance called Kecak and Fire Dance. Which was amazing and with the ocean and the sunset in the background it really was a treat! The dance was great! Very emotional and powerful and also included a few funny stunts where the Monkey King decided to target myself and ran into the audience to sit right next to me causing a massive scene!! I nearly crapped myself!
After the dance it was time for dinner where our guide took us to this beautiful seafood restaurant on the beach in Jimbaran Bay. We were seated outside and served a gorgeous three course spread. By this time I was absolutely knackered and didn't have much of an appetite. But I did my very best!
The photos tell more of a story than I have...
