Houston Founders Day is the 3rd Saturday of August every year.

The celebration is a true "Small Town Celebration"

They added a new feature this year . . .A Parade . .

It went from Millers Market to the Houston Lodge (which have huge adjacent parking lots), across the Parks Hwy to the Huston Fire Station. The main features were every emergency vehicle the city has, plus a few fun floats including my favorite . . the Rubber Duck Float.

There were vendors of art and food.

Sky Lanters before the fireworks show.

This is video taken by Larry Mattingly. The show was 20 minutes, the video has been edited down to 3:20 . . . as wide as possible, he still was only able to get the top of the low fireworks and the bottoms of the 3" with the exception of the 8" shells which were angles in such a way that they broke low in the angle of view

These videos are a prime example of "any event is in the eye of the beholder". The two videos were taken less than 20 feet apart however the 2 videos are have a dramatically different feel.

This video was taken by Mikel Whedbee with a GoPro Hero. It has a very wide angle view but still did not get the high breaking shells. The 20 munute video was edited down to 4:56 minutes.
