No more perfect an evening, to bring in the new year could have been had, than the one had last night.
I don't believe I have a single photo of ME shooting fireworks before this New Years Eve. . .this is the first time ever that I asked a person to stand and push the button over and over and not change ANYTHING that they actually did what I asked. Seems everybody wants to chase the big shells, that I don't care about, (I have a few of my own you know) instead of leaving the settings and focus exactly like I wanted.
The temperature was barely freezing after a warm wet day. I executed what may have been the least stressful, successfully fireworks show I remember in a long time.
The Chugach Fire Department were at the show in force and started the show with lights and sirens and three long blasts of the horn. After the show they let a young man who happened to be celebrating his birthday climb in and blow the horn again. "Big Boys, with a Big Toy" . . .
After the fireworks the families launched Sky Lanterns and sparklers were passed out to the children.
After my show was wrapped up I headed off to a fellow pyro's house for more fireworks and a glass of champagne.

We were just talking about the thunderbird falls show and how it was our favorite. I was so missing dad because he did this show for a couple of years. Glad to hear you are doing it now. Wish I would have known, I probably would have come. Any way.....Happy New Year!
Hi Jackie...these are wonderful photos! It must have been an incredible show. Exactly the way you like to start the New Year. (Or, is it send out the Old one!?!) Either way it was a fitting tribute and I thank you for sharing. Em
