I always try to go somewhere I have never been on my birthday, this year was no exception. The weather man said Sunny Skies, they LIED.

My goal was to take a photo of Mt Baker reflecting off of Picture Lake. Turned out the snow had not melted and Picture Lake was just a muddy puddle. However the next lake over (Highwood Lake) had melted enough to see a partial reflection of mt Shuksan.

At the campground at Baker Lake
the butterflies were everywhere.

The Grady Lake Campground looked like Skagit County
had just put in new picknic tables and landscaping,
but at some point there was an old dock of some sort,
the piers of which made the lake even more picturesque.

The most interesting part of the trip was deciding if the fields of
Genetically Modified Marshmellows from Mars
were in fact farms owned by descendants of Salvidor Dali.
