Today was a rain, rain go away type of day. We started the day off with waffles, sausage and fruit overlooking the shore.  The day was planned for kayaking the Wailua River.  We traveled to WalMart and loaded up on snacks, water and water shoes.  When we showed up, they informed us that kayaking was a no go:o(  There was flash flooding on the mountain.  Disappointed, we drove to Opaeka Falls.  At the end of the road was another trail to hike, but when we got to the end of the road, which was down a steep slope, there was rushing water through the road and couples with their cars were stranded on the other side.  We pulled over to gawk with other travelers-of course being utterly useless.  They stared at us, we stared at them.  A native said those people would probably be stuck there over night.  YIKES.  During this drive, we saw so many waterfalls on the mountain as they were getting a ton of rain.  So, we drove back to our town (about 1.5 hours) and returned to Island Taco for the most incredible tacos.  This lifted our spirits.  We then regrouped back at the B&B.  Our next plan was to travel back to Polihale-the most incredible, private beach we've ever seen.  Butttttt, as we were off roading in our little sedan, we chickened out as it was too muddy and the fear of getting stuck trumped.  Not to worry though, we found another private beach and walked along that for miles.  After that, we went back to the room and got ready for our first dinner out.  We dined at Wranglers for Steaks and Scampi.  That night we crossed the street from our B&B and sat on the rocks with the waves crashing and watched the full moon.  This was our last night in Kauai.  Tomorrow Maui!
