Where I stayed
Daniel Boone National Forest
Campgrounfs deep in the forest
Stopped at Cumberland Falls on the way home and camped one night. It's in the middle of a National Forest so it's very beautiful, scenic. There are bear warning signs everywhere, but still didn't see one. The Falls are so pretty. It's intesting that this is one of only a couple places in the world you can see a moonbow.
A moonbow (also known as a lunar rainbow, lunar bow
or white rainbow) is a rainbow
produced by light reflected off the surface of the moon rather than from
amount of light reflected from the surface of the Moon. They are
always in the opposite part of the sky from the moon. The Cumberland Falls are the only place in the western hemisphere you can see a moonbow!
Mike is happy now with the campfire situation. Campfires the last 3 nights! We made pie iron hamburgers last night and bacon and crescent rolls this morning. We spent time looking around the falls and we are on the highway heading home now.
We are happy about our "maiden voyage" in the RV. Met some very nice people along the way. We met a nice couple last night from Albany NY. They have been in every state in the continental US in their RV. Met a guy this morning from Colorado. He's thinking about buying an RV so he rented one and is seeing how he likes it. He dropped his wife off in a city for shopping and him and the dog were seeing the falls.
Having the RV is so darned convenient....everything you need is right there and you are free to go where you want.No need to haul luggage in and out of motels. No need to spend a fortune eating out, and you know who slept in the bed the night before!
