We woke up early to get ready to head of to Venice. My cousin Sylvia and her husband Dieter and their kids were also leaving for their vacation to Canada today to see family, so they get to see my (James') niece and everyone at home before we do, we are very jealous! So another day of trains (11 hours) from Nonnenhorn to Venice. When we got off our train it was easy to find our hotel but when we got there they said they were full and sent us to another hotel they booked us into across the canal. It turned out ok because the room was air conditioned and the breakfast was really good.

We just walked around the city taking pictures of Venice during the sunset and going in and out of ever shop looking at the different masquerade masks they had and contemplating whether or not to buy one. I bugged Jackie a few times that she was like my mom in Ireland going in and out of every door to check things out; it was good that she was excited to be out travelling again. We did make our way to San Marco Square though to see the big catherdal, square and the pier; of course it was beautiful, just like the rest of Venice. It's so different than any other place, a real unique city, which is what we need this far into our trip after seeing so many different places with the same types of sights over and over.
