We woke up and drove most of the day towards Tongariro National park to see volcano's where 'Mount Doom’ from lord of the rings was filmed. Unfortunately it was so overcast that we couldn’t even see the volcano and our plan to get a plane ride around the volcanos was now out the window. We went to the information center and found out that it would be raining and possibly hailing for the next two days so all our plans were up in the air again.

So we stayed at a DOC campsite in the area and spent the rest of the day reading while it rained outside.
