Where I stayed
Francis and Svetlanna's House

So the last few days we've spent staying at Francis and Svetlanna's house and they've been amazing to us!
The second day here they took us to a harbour to walk around; neither of us had ever been to an actual harbour before believe it or not. Then we ventured over to Fremantle to walk around and look in the markets and then we had lunch in the park, definately a great way to spend a morning!
Then after all that walking around we went back to their place so their little girl, Antionette, and I (Jackie) could have our afternoon naps! haha.
That night some friends of theirs came over and we all went to King's Park (a huge Park in the middle of Perth) to see the amazing view and have a bbq in the park. (See we've been spoiled!)
After the bbq we drove back to the beginning of the park where there is an awesome view overlooking the city skyline and since it was dark by then it was all lit up and beautiful.

The next day, being valentine's day, Svetlanna wanted to go skating. So since her son was home and able to watch their daughter Francis and Svetlanna took James and I to the Arena for a couple hours of skating! Imagine that, the first time in years I go skating is in Australia while it's plus thirty something outside!! I am sure James and I were a laughable sight too, we both stepped on the ice and were barely able to move our legs for fear of falling! haha (keep in mind though my legs felt like gelly a bit still from being weak and I still get dizzy from moving around too much, so this was me trying to force myself back to normal). After awhile though it started coming back and James was scooting around the ice and I was slowly attempting some spins, which after a few sessions of me spinning and spinning I would get really dizzy and have to sit for a while.
Later that afternoon was pretty much spent trying to get information on campervans because James and I have decided taking a campervan across Southern Australia is going to be our next journey. So Francis and James looked up, e-mailed, and called a bunch of different companies trying to accumulate as much info and prices as possible.
That evening we had a big meal again of pasta and then finished the night of with some very competitive rounds of Uno!!

On the 15th we spent the morning finalizing our plans for a campervan (which is definately eating into our budget! yikes, stupid insurance is what is putting us over of course) and we booked the van to pick up the next day. The plan then was to gather supplies and stay over again one more night and then be on our way to start our next adventure the following morning.
We have the van booked for one month (until March 16th, which just so happens to be my birthday so I guess I will be spending that in Sydney!) and as much as we love staying with the Van Vugt's (it's been an amazing break from the road) we're excited to get back to the moving around and sight seeing.
I am still not 100% back to normal and get dizzy constantly which puts more responsibility on James' back but he's been doing great so far and hopefully my mind will come back to me soon and in good shape without all the weakness and whatnot!!
That afternoon we went to a pawn shop and got a GPS for our trip; we figured it was a good idea to get a second hand one because buying it brand new was going to cost quite a bit more (a little foreshadowing here but....this didn't turn out so well).
Then for supper we were treated to lamb chops! Neither James nor I had ever had it before and it was actually quite good....of course we both still prefer beef! lol

On the 16th we started the day by watching a couple classic movies that everyone seemed astonished I hadn't ever seen then that afternoon we went to pick up our van! (We were actually a bit late and when we got there were told they were suppose to be closing in ten minutes, oops, but some people still had to drop off some vans yet) So we did the van check over, got some free supplies that other people left behind at the office, and headed back to Francis and Svetlanna's.
This night we had bbq steak again and with some neighbour friends and we sat outside and all chatted for hours. (I tried a little chardonnay that they brought over, mostly to see how I would react to alcohol with my dizziness still from being sick, and sure enough I could feel the tingle from the wine from less than half a glass!)
