Our third day in Ubud started the same as the previous day, with tea waiting on our porch table followed by a plate of fruit and this time a toasted egg sandwich for breakfast! Mmmm Mmmm. We are so glad we ended up staying at this place and gave up on the one we wanted to check out.

Before we really started our day we went to buy tickets to get to the Gili islands for the following day, but first we had to get more money out, this ended up being a little nerve racking. I (Jackie) used my debit card in one machine and it wouldn't let me take out the amount I wanted and neither would the machine from a different bank beside it so I went back to the first one. When I finally got the right amount and I am pretty sure got everything else right (after about 4 tries) the machine seemed like it processed it but then it just quit, spit out my card, and the screen said "Thank you for using (whatever bank it was)". We just stood there staring at the machine....still waiting for my money and receipt, no luck. I pretty much freaked and had a heart attack so we had to go find internet so I could check my balance. When I finally got to check it it hadn't shown up so I felt a little better (and the fact that no receipt came out made it feel better too). I wasn't going back to that ATM though and we found other ones. I tried an ATM from the same bank and the same thing happened so I picked another bank's ATM and FINALLY it worked.....I'll be double checking my bank balance again though.

So after all that we got our tickets and headed for the monkey forest on the edge of town. After James' previous run in with monkeys we were a little nervous of entering "their domain" and we quickly turned down people selling bananas to feed the monkeys; we definately didn't need to attract them to us! There was no word of a lie several hundred monkeys in the forest and thank god none of them were overly aggressive or it would have been alot more interesting. We did see a couple monkeys fighting and it got pretty heated especially when several monkeys ganged up on another one. It was cool to see a bunch of monkeys sitting on the path smashing nuts and crushing leaves to get the good stuff inside. We ended the day by going to the same restaurant we had before and it was delicious just like before.
