For sightseeing we went to intramuros, considered old town manila from the Spanish occupation era. Took some pics, it was alright. We also went to rizal park, and the tourist must-see Manila cathedral. All that walking under the sun in mid 30c temperature was just too much. We were all looking for shade constantly and trying to find places/shops that have ac to try to cool down.  To be honest manila doesn't seem to have much to offer to the tourist. Plus the high humidity heat makes it really miserable to walk around outside.  Come dinner time we went to this area called the seaside. It's a seafood market with restaurants right next to it. You basically haggle for your fresh seafood ingredient and bring it next door to the restaurants and tell them how you want it cooked. The restaurants charge a very reasonable cooking fee. You can buy lobsters, many different fishes, different sized shrimps, scallops still in their shells, crabs, clams, oysters, mussels, squids, etc for dirt cheap. Our seafood feasts (we like the place so much we ate there twice!) cost less then usd$10-12/person all included. Similar quantities of seafood in the USA would cost >usd$50, and it doesn't include cooking!
