G'day everyone! Welcome to Cairns, our most northely point of Australia that we will be visiting before flying down to Melbourne tomorrow night which also coincidently is my Birthday! Believe it or not, its actually National Jack Ellis Day here in Australia tomorrow. Apparently, there are going to be festivals in all major cities of Australia and a national day off. So everyone is going to be loving it!
Its our last day here in Cairns and its been a pretty cool place to visit for the last week. Alot of people use this town as means to dive in the Great Barrier Reef from, which is exactly what Andy did yesterday! lucky boy! The weather held out yesterday for him so there was quite alot of blue sky, which is more than i can say for today! Its raining!
We have both done a few activities while we have been here. Andy did a 50 metre bungy jump and i did a 40 metre swing with Matt. Basically, we get pulled up 40 metres in the air, while laying down, let go and swing at 100kph over buildings and forest! Andys bungy jump on the other hand may not seem that big, but it was just a warm up as he bought a ticket to do a 140 metre bungy in New Zealand! The 2nd highest in the world! All i can say is rather you than me matey!!
For the rest of the week, the 5 of us (Andy, Pat, Matt, Dan and I) have been enjoying the rainy, humid weather with a few sessions in the swimming pool and believe it or not, Pat, Andy and I hit the gym.....twice!! First scent of exercise in a good 3 months! All i can say is that our bodies were not happy about it as we are now hurting so much, that i am slumpt over the typing desk while writing this to you!
Anyway, off to Melbourne tomorrow (quite surprised planes are flying on National Jack Ellis Day but there ya go), and look forward to writing soon, jack and andrew xx
