G'day everyone! Well after visiting fraser Island, it was an absolute neccesity that we sail the Whitsundays! The boat we were on was a large sailing boat, however, there were 22 of us so it was very cramped. Im pretty sure Andy and i 'single' beds was a matter of centimetres wide, not metres! Nevertheless,we all had a fabulous time! We all went snorkelling and scuba diving, where Andrew completed his diving course so that was good news, where as i just had a beginners dive, but good enough for me!! Seeing some great coral and fish as were were snorkelling the outer Barrier Reef so that was expected! The weather was beautiful aswell so just seeing the tropical blue water added to the whole experience! Earlier that day, we visited Whitehaven beach which is number 4 in the world of beautiful beaches! Pictures will be up soon!
We had a chef on board so it was good to have nice food cooked for us, which neither of us have had in a few months!! At night, part from playing card games that made me have to take my clothes off, we could lay on the top deck, listening for the flying fish and watching the stars. Fantastic!
The second night, we dropped anchor in a large bay where we were near one of, if not, the top hotel in the world! Our skipper used to work there and claimed he played tennis with Bill Gates and drank with Metallica! Thats my claim to fame!
On the last day, we did a bit more snorkelling and enyoyed diving off the boat, while also feeding 4 huge angel fish that would nibble our toes if we dangled them in!
We are leaving airlie Beach tomorrow and i thing we are going to Mission Beach, or it could be Magnetic Island, im not sure so will look forward to writing from where ever i go next, jack and andrew xx
