Hey everybody! Well we havn't had much planned this weekend but in the end, it turned out to be really good! Sorry to rub it in, but while you guys have been stuck in doors due to your rubbish weather, we have spent the last 3 days on the beach with Chris and Tom absolutely loving it! Sorry about that! Ok so, on friday, it was a normal day on the beach until Tom and myself (jack) decided to go and get some drinks when i walked past these group of guys. After a double take, i realised they were the British sprinters with a few other athletes who i didnt realise. For those who know any of them, they were Mark-Lewis-Francis and Marlon Devonish, and two others who i think make up the relay team. We went back and told the others. Andrew being himself didnt believe us so had to go and check it out! After he overcame the shock, Andrew and myself went to wish Marlon good luck while he was sitting on the beach! Andrew couldnt help but slip in that he was a sprinter aswell (i just didnt want to show off). Marlon is his new best friend. Even though they are awesome runners, they were absolutely rubbish in the sea. None of them could catch the waves. Lewish-francis loudly exclaimed in the sea "that wave was poo!". We found that quite amusing.
That night, we met up with Chris and Tom and their friends who they are staying with at a house party. Even though the house party was a bit of a drag, we all got on like a house on fire so went to a bar after to go and play a bit of pool.
Yesterday we went to the beach again. The same old sunbathing and playing rugby/american football rules applied, as does every beach day. That night, my uncle kindly gave me 4 executive tickets to go and see a rugby league match at the Olympic Park Telstra Stadium. So Andrew, Tom , Chris and I went! The stadium was huge, as you will beable to see from the photos that will be put up shortly. Our team lost unfortunately but that didnt really matter. We had our own bar and were sitting infront of the coaches booth so we did feel pretty important!
We today, it will come as no surprise that we spent another day at the beach. We couldnt resist a few jumps off the pier before we went to the beach. But after we were told that the splashing attracts the sharks, we decided to end that straight away! Andrew was scared of jumping off, so decided to be on shark fin lookout!
Tonight, we came back and had another great aussie barbeque, cooked by an Englishman, my uncle! Nevertheless, it was still great so no complaints about not being fed well! Ok well, we are just about to go and have a dip in the pool, (its a hard life)so will look forward to writing soon.
Jack and Andrew xx
