Ok, so welcome to the second part of our ko samui tour. Sorry guys about the delay for a couple of days, but the nearest internet cafe which doesnt rip you off is a taxi ride into town!
So we left the hussle and bussle of Bangkok to take a tour down to ko samui,a tropical island in search of relaxation and sunshine! Only problem is that we have visited the island the only week in its entire history that it has actually rained! Its like norfolk!! Just still really humid, but no sunshine! It was so funny earlier, it was raining and we were in the pool, suddenly there was a break of sunshine! Me and andy looked at eachother, grinning like cheshire cats, ran for the sunbeds and glued ourselves to them 4 ten minutes until the sun went back behind black clouds again! how pathetic!
Everything is geared up 4 sunshine hear, so when there is none, there isnt really that much to do! But we were not going to waste our time so we went insearch of a place that would let us hire mo peds! It was fantastic! There is a section on the road especially for mo peds so it wasnt that dangerous, just good to have a tootle realy! So we set off on our tour. We were in search for any food tht didnt consist of sweet and sour and rice and were amazed to see a tesco on the map! No waitrose, but i suppose a tesco would have to do!
No longer than 10 minutes of riding, it started to rain, getting harder, harder and harder. We were left with no choice but to get shelter under this tin roof with a group of either spaniards or italians, not really sure. We were there for about 40 minutes, but thankfully our bags were water proof so nothing was wet inside, except the clothes that we were wearing hence andys picture in the tescos toilets!
Food there was so cheap, one hersheys bar for about 30p! so we stocked up! We were walking past the tesco clothes section when we saw these, what we thought, were waterproof/windproof gown things! so we bought the 2 best colours, blue for andy and red (pink when wet) for me! So we headed back with our gowns on, only to realise tht they were not waterproofs but thai ladies dresses! All the girls started to laugh and wave! we just thought we were popular, so we waved back. At least we cheered everyone up in the rain! All in the English spirit, good times!
Somthing i 4got to mentio was that on the way, we were, before we knew it, riding amonst other foriegners on their mo peds, in these rapids going over the road! from the overflowing river! we had to keep the revs up otherwise we would have got soaking if we stalled, so we just kept riding at about 5 mph!
So in the evening, we went to se a thai kickboxing match! Ringside seats of course with a great view. We were pretty shocked to see kids no older than 6 having full on fights in the ring with the whole crowd cheering behind them! It was like watching a year 7 fight at school! The main event was a fight between an italian and a thai. The thai was an absolute trojan! The fight lasted 11 seconds. Basically, the thai guy hit him in the face sending the italian flying! The italian signalled to the referee that he didnt want to fight anymore! Evryone started to boo and make chicken noises! Andrew went up to the italian to ask why and he was surprisingly more than happy to explain! He said that he could not really box and when he felt the blow of the thais punch, he didnt really want to stick around! So why exactly was he there! I could have done a better job hanging upside down, with my eyes closed playing the banjo!
So now off to the full moon party. If any of you are interested just look it up on the internet. 30,000 people there on the beach! Beat st neots anyday!
We will upload sme photos 2moro so there will be some kool ones of the party! Hope everyone is ok. Andy and jack
