Before leaving the Philippines I had to go searching for one of the cutest creatures I've ever read about...the Tarsier. I booked a ferry trip from Cebu to neighbouring Bohol and when I arrived I walked passed the many locals offering transport until the prices they were yelling started to come down. When one guy asked for a price close to what I was willing to pay I told him I'll take it, as long as he drove me where I wanted to go & not anywhere he might get a cut from.

So we were off & on the way to the Tarsier Foundation. I'd read about this place. It's a small place with a few acres where Tarsier are free to roam & breed without danger. The foundation raises money and awareness of the endangered species. I walked thru the grounds with one of the staff & got a great look at these amazing little primates. They're smaller than you palm & absolutely adorable. Sadly these little creatures are not far from being extinct & if anyone ever goes to Bohol to see these primates, please go to the foundations & not the tourist spots that cage the animals & charge people for photos with them.

Next it was time to check out the Chocolate Hills around Carmen. It was a nice drive through the countryside to the centre of the island & although the hills were not quite dry enough to be completely brown making them look like their name suggests, they were still pretty cool. I went to a lookout for a view out across the hills and took some photos

Then I headed back into town to check out the local shops & have a little relax...it was massage time! It was a great 2hr full body massage behind a curtain in the back of a little hairdressers but it really did the trick.
