I met a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sofia that has a cousin's aunt's sister's friend's niece's husband that lives in the Northwest region of Bulguaria (the poorest region in the EU).

So once again I dont know what Im getting myself into, but thats why its so damn exciting.  The landscape was beautiful, of course.  Open range, green rolling hills, forest.......

I met up with a Peace Corps Volunteer in Belogradchik and he is working in the field of tourism.  The Belogradchik rock formations are currently in the top 100 for natural sites.  They are currently voting to get onto the "The 7 natural wonders."  I dont think they will make it but this place is spectacular.  My first thought.... Mini Sedonna.

There is a also a fortress built by the Romans in the 1st century then latter reinforced by the Turks.

Its nice to get out of the city and check out the countryside.

Today Im going to get on a train and hopefully somebody that I dont know will pick me up at the train station.  If not Im sleeping on a park bench next to Billy the Bum.

There is an International Valley of the Roses Festival this weekend so I have to stay for that.  I was planning on staying in Bulgaria for two nights and it looks like Ill stay over a week (Who am I kidding, I dont plan).
