Flagstaff (elevation 7000) to Seligman (5200)
78 miles
6 hours of ride time
7 hours total day
12.8 average mph (fastest day yet)
37 max speed
Rode the first 7 miles with Zack and Matt but not after putting on Chammios Butter which is for acertain part of the anatomy. Let me tell you, what a sensation. I have never ridden with such enthusiasm.
My longest day of riding and it was actually one of my easier days, a lot of downhill.
The start of route 66, I picked it up in Williams and then it combined with the I-40 only to separate again and go thru Ash Fork. Riding on route 66 was trip. I encontered a lot of nothing and sweet old towns that survived on the old highway.
What a neat feeling to be riding on out first major highway, riding thru history and a road that changed the US for the better.
I found a campsite and managed to stay talk my way into a free night.
