Where I stayed
Dan Cohen's house
Here we go:
When I first woke up this morning all I could think about is "Am I really going to do this?"
I must have said that line at least 42 times and by that 42nd time I was on my bike and ready to go.
The first 15 minutes on my bike was more of the same, but slightly negative, "What the F#$# am I doing."
I was having trouble controlling my bicycle because of the trailer attached. I was very nervous the first 5 miles because that trailer took control of my bike and the slightest movement would have sent me tumbling down. Once I got my bearings set I was loving life. I was actually laughing and talking aloud.
To brag to someone I called my Mom and proceeded to talk on my cellphone while I was riding almost crashing multiple times but loving every moment. I was riding on the Rio Grande Trail passing many cyclists and what I found interesting was their greeting towards me. I might just be reading into ths, but I felt like I was getting an extra nod of appreciation from the other cyclists and even a few comments like "nice rig, kid."
Fun Facts:
29 miles from Snowmass to Carbondale.
2 hours and 10 minutes
Total weight of bicycle with trailer 105 pounds and then an additional 160 pounds of Jordan.
Plans for tomorrow:
Ride from Carbondale with Dan Cohen to Battlement Mesa which is about 50 miles.
