"We're in Boston - we're in Boston." - We got in last night about 9 ish. I had the brains to book a hotel at the airport so after a short 4 mile walk through the terminal and across the connecting bridge, up the stairs, around the next terminal, through the tunnel and into the foyer we arrived an hour later only to discover we could have taken a Hilton bus from the runway (well as near as damn it). Checked into our room and went to bed. Next morning 5am we were wide awake and ready to go. Helen had to do her hair first so by 8am we were set hahaha!! We went down and caught the Hilton bus to the terminal train and boarded for Downtown station. Exiting at Macy's we were finally here!.. After 10 minutes I decided I was moving here. The sun was shining, the people friendly and the town alive and welcoming - we walked along eyeing up all the places to eat at later with me looking for signs of my favourite Boston fictional character Spencer, I have read Robert B Parker books and feel like I know this city a little from those, Its a walking city and you can cover the whole town end to end in a few hours (obviously we were not going to do that) and with our pedometers on we hit the park and sat by the Frog lake. Helen told me I looked scary and unapproachable and people would be wary of someone like me so I went off to prove a point and chatted to a nice young lady to find directions to the local market - No she didn't run away - in fact she took great pleasure in telling me her bloody life story and a whole lot more (God I wish I was scary and unapproachable) Brown 1 Mayes Nil..
During our Boston trip I have found a love for the Red Sox - a Baseball team here and I have gotten a T-shirt and hat, Brown got a hat too and we scoured the market and food hall. Smells and tastes filled the air - the meat looks bigger and the fish more flavoursome. I found The Cheers Bar and a stall that sold merchandice one T-shirt read..  I've had a few... "I don't even know my name" (That's funny to Cheers fans!) We went on a boat ride next I'm going over to Brown for that part :)..

Thank you Mayzeebabe.
Before I get to the boat ride, I need to add a few prior observations. Like the longest ever 5 hour flight of my entire life. Having no inflight movies actually makes time tick backwards. No matter how cheap a future deal may be I think I am now a trans-atlantic snob and will insist on trimmings and extras that keep me from insanely checking the time about every seven minutes. And only 'gustin' looking smorgasbord dry rye things to eat for several hundred krona. No we didn't get that bored - we just starved our way over the ocean. Hungry but grateful to be arrived - we did really love Boston right from the word go.
We hit town without a cent to our name - and found a machine that kindly gave me $20. Tony hit Starbucks and I just gazed in wonder at the delicious and varied items on offer. MMMMmmmm - couldn't decide so onto a deli - MMMMMmmmm scrumptious stuff. Hey - where are the toilets?? I went in a few places that required tokens, purchases, subscriptions or a change of religion - as we made our way to the dock area - I was informed that Boston didn't have any public loos - once she'd realised what I was after - Oh a BATHROOM!
Well - I went up to the hot dog seller and he said "Can I help you?" And I whimpered I need the BARTHROOM - You need the BATHROOM? He echoed - Well you've asked the right person and showed me where to go - I love that hot dog man and Tony dutifully bought a hotdog by way of thanks.
So down to the docks because I wanted a CODZILLA ride - I heard it was fast wet and noisy and it looked fun - like a big speedboat with shark teeth. We got on and Tony sat in the wettest seats possible :-))) HEE Heeeeee HEEEEEEEE I'm all excited and off we go. Loud music and off we chug feeling like the big boys of the bay - everyone chatting about who is going to get the wettest. WHEEEEEEEE he goes fast and Yes Mayzeee is the first and only person somehow to get a bucket's worth of water in the face - It is here I start laughing my head off and it just gets worse from hereon. All I can remember is laughing and screaming and loving it.
And I got soaked and so did my phone which is now officially dead. Mayzee's camera asked him if he wanted to make an underwater movie  - OK! I think he said yes and got a no-sound one. WE saw this crazy duck too which was flying along at the same speed as us. The boat did lots of fancy spins and things to make us scream and then headed back to the bay - with us all drenched and panting - he pulled up to slow just as a huge and I mean REAALLLYBIG plane virtually landed on our heads - that was a truly "I am so alive" awesome moment.
When we got back to shore it started to rain torrentially and all of Boston were soon as soaking as we were - there is something cosmic about that, as when we boarded the boat it was 30 degree sunshine and we were sitting on a wall sipping fresh lemonade.
